Why use this resource?
Ferns are an incredible type of low lying vascular plant. They are known to remove pollutants and chemicals from different soils. The problem is, most people don’t know much about them. By teaching your students about ferns, they can be the next scientist to invent an important tool!
How to use:
To use the 3-part cards in conjunction with the fact cards, print out 2 copies of each. Cut the picture from the name and cut out the description. To begin, have your students learn how to identify the picture with the fern name using the uncut cards. Once they have mastered that introduce the picture and the name cutouts. After they have learned names, begin introducing the description and see if they can group them all together.
Using the flashcards as a notebook insert. Students can cut out each card and glue it to their notebooks. In the blank space, they can jot down notes from the lecture or from research.
Creating a bulletin board using the visuals. You may want to use the poster and cards to create a visual display.
